Our client relationships are built on trust, discretion and a confidential need-to-know basis. Our client portfolio is mostly made up of leading blue chip multinational corporations, including many well-known institutions, both public and private companies across a variety of industries.
However, we are also able to serve small and medium sized companies who are often stepping out of their home jurisdiction for the first time; and given that significant commercial activity in the local region is controlled by family businesses and institutional investors, these also form an important part of our local outbound client base.
There are also a large number of global law firms who use us to service their client needs for tax in this region, in additional to several international tax networks. Some service-providers use us themselves, others refer their clients directly; we are happy to work on either basis.
Our current client base is spread across an array of different industries, these can often vary from year to year according to regional trends. When Cragus was first established in 2006, most of our clients were in the financial services sector; though in the years following, the global financial crisis, the addition of key members of our team from the industry, and our activities in Iraq and Africa, resulted in us heavily focussing on the needs of our Oil & Gas clients an emphasis that remains in our practice. The Arab spring also resulted in further changes to our practice, due to an increasing regional investment relating to the defence industry. Whereas, TMT, construction/infrastructure, transportation, hospitality and FMCGs have remained as constantly growing sectors for us, as the region continues to develop.
